Women’s Leadership Initiative announces new members

Women's Leadership

Following its fall membership drive, the Women’s Leadership Initiative is proud to welcome 122 new members to its ranks of over 500 faculty and staff across the WVU System.

Although women make up more than 60% of the higher education workforce, they hold only 30% of its executive leadership positions. Now in its 12th year, the WLI works to improve those numbers by providing a leadership curriculum and offering activities such as CliftonStrengths coaching and workshops.

The program is also working toward an endowment to help ensure a stable and independent source of funding to sponsor professional development opportunities and other activities. Currently, the organization is supported by a Women of WVU grant and activities are coordinated by a volunteer steering committee.

WLI provides a strong professional network of learning, mentorship and comradery and extends a warm welcome to all new members.
