Departmental costs incurred through the Managed Printing program for July and August will be visible on telecommunications bills starting Sept. 23.
Information Technology Services and Shared Services had to create a customized data file to support the new billing process, and the University’s vendor needed longer than anticipated to test and complete the work.
Using funding strings that departments have provided, ITS calculates monthly spend on printing and copying, and rolls those costs into the monthly telecommunications bill.
Units typically won’t receive printing invoices for processing in Mountaineer Marketplace. The charges will be deducted directly from the funding string provided for Managed Printing.
Within your telecom bill, you will see separate Managed Printing items, with funding strings and line items. Printing that is charged to a grant will still need to be invoiced.
Detailed reports on individual users will not be included, but department administrators will be able to request those if they want to monitor employee printing. Send a request for a detailed report, including your funding string(s) and the month of usage you want to review, to ITSHelp@mail.wvu.edu and a ticket will be created.
