On West Virginia Day (June 20), the West Virginia Water Research Institute’s Three Rivers QUEST — 3RQ — program partnered with Ascend WV to host a Monongahela River Sweep.
Thirty volunteers came out to participate and removed more than 1,225 pounds of trash from the waters, banks and trails of the Monongahela River.
A huge “thank you” is extended to all the volunteers, the Ohio River Valley Water Sanitation Commission and the Mon River Trails Conservancy.
