Student Media wins Golden Quill awards

The Daily Athenaeum and U92 The Moose were recently awarded two Golden Quill awards during a ceremony at Rivers Casino in Pittsburgh. 

Hosted by the Press Club of Western Pennsylvania, the annual awards recognize journalists and news outlets across West Virginia, Pennsylvania and Ohio for their expert storytelling and accountability work.  

Alumna Lara Bonatesta was awarded Student Excellence in Written Journalism Feature for her “Full-court press on breastfeeding promotion’: WVU opens new nursing pod at Coliseum,” published last year in the The Daily Athenaeum.

Luke Blain, The Daily Athenaeum sports editor, and Tannor Lambert, U92 alumnus, were awarded Student Excellence in Audio Journalism Sports for their Mountaineer Sports Insider Podcast,  “Luke and Tannor Sit Down with WVU Athletic Director Wren Baker.”

Kaeli Ricottilli was awarded runner-up for “The Girls Who Get It,” a podcast produced by The Daily Athenaeum.
