To end Data Privacy Week, Information Technology Services offers tips for working in a public space or on public computers.
Be cautious with credit cards. Don’t enter your card number on a public computer.
Use incognito web browsing mode. If it’s a public computer, open a private window.
Log out. Always log out of any websites you’ve accessed and never save your passwords on public computers.
Change your passwords if necessary. If you forget to log out of a website after working on a public computer, consider changing your password.
Watch for prying eyes. Be aware of your surroundings, including anyone looking over your shoulder while you work in public.
