Members of the WVU community are encouraged to celebrate the holidays with a press-wide discount of 20% off all books and e-books by visiting wvupress.com and using the code HOLIDAY20 at checkout through Dec. 31.
Shoppers can also purchase a wide variety of books at the new F.A.R.M. store located on Main Street in Granville. Titles include recent successes such as “The Secret Lives of Church Ladies” by Deesha Philyaw, and “Another Appalachia: Growing up Queer'” and “Indian in a Mountain Place” by Neema Avashia.
The F.A.R.M is a retail-restaurant combination created by Nikki Bowman Mills of WV Living magazine and Dale Hawkins of Fish Hawk Acres.
“We are excited about our partnership with WVU Press and the opportunity to sell their amazing collection of books,” Bowman Mills said. “In fact, our hope is to make retail more interactive with co-sponsored events with WVU Press like poetry slams, a book club, author readings and discussions, and cooking classes.”
WVU Press interim director Than Saffel agreed.
“Nikki and Co. have very generously offered us a space where we can display a wide variety of titles, and given us the opportunity to curate the selection ourselves. It's a pleasure to be able to show readers the range of work we publish, in addition to the hits. And the possibility of doing events in that great new space is really exciting,” Saffel said.
