The WVU Army ROTC Mountaineer Battalion will conduct helicopter transportation operations in conjunction with the West Virginia Army National Guard on the Rec Center fields beginning at 9 a.m. Friday (Oct. 27).
Members of the University community are welcome to observe but are required to remain in the paved parking lot adjacent to the intramural fields during the operations.
Cadets will be transported in two successive flights by UH-60 Black Hawk helicopters and the exercise should take no longer than 60 minutes.
Field training exercises allow cadets to demonstrate tactical proficiency in preparation for individual leadership assessments held at Advanced Camp at Fort Knox, Kentucky, over the summer.
The Health Sciences recreational fields will serve as an alternate landing location.
