Defend Your Data: Follow these tips to keep your information and WVU data safe

cybersecurity

While reports of massive data breaches may feel overwhelming, you are not powerless to protect your virtual identity or the University's information.

During Cybersecurity Awareness Month, Information Technology Services reminds all employees and students about four simple steps to defend your data:

• Use strong passwords and a password manager such as Keeper, LastPass, Dashlane or 1Password.

• Turn on multi-factor authentication for your non-WVU accounts.

• Recognize and report phishing using the built-in tools in Outlook and Gmail.

• Keep your software up to date.
