Career Services to host two career fairs with multiple employers

Career Services, in collaboration with the John Chambers College of Business and Economics Center for Career Development, will host the Business and Communications Career and Internship Fair on Tuesday (Oct. 3). Additionally, Career Services will host the Behavior and Social Sciences Career and Internship Fair on Wednesday (Oct. 4). 

Both events are scheduled from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Mountainlair Ballrooms.

Career fairs are open to students and alums of all majors. Faculty and staff are also invited to explore the opportunities available to students and enjoy the networking experience for yourself and your department.

Students seeking employment and networking opportunities in accounting, management, journalism, communication studies, sports management and related fields are encouraged to attend the Business and Communications Career and Internship Fair. 

More than 90 companies will participate, including ABC Supply Co., ADP, Aldi, Baker Tilly, Cintas Corporation, Deloitte, Encova Insurance, Insight Global, MegaCorp Logistics, Northwestern Mutual, Penske Truck Leasing and more.

Students seeking employment and networking opportunities in social work, education, criminology, psychology, sociology and related fields are encouraged to attend the Behavior and Social Sciences Career and Internship Fair. 

More than 40 companies are participating, including Arlington County Police Department, Encompass Health, Genesis Healthcare, The New England Center for Children, WVU Medicine and more.

Students are expected to be ready to network during the career fairs by researching the companies they hope to meet with in advance and having their resume reviewed or career fair questions answered during the Walk-In Resume Review Workshop from 1-3:30 p.m. Monday (Oct. 2) in the Career Services office. Representatives from PLS Logistics and J.B. Hunt will be assisting in these reviews.  

Professional attire is required. In addition, free professional headshots are available to students at the events.

There will be some parking adjustments on the Downtown Campus area to host prospective employers. On Tuesday (Oct. 3), there will be limited street parking on North High, Fife, North Spruce and Prospect streets. On Wednesday (Oct. 4), there will be limited street parking on North High and Prospect streets.
