DeBord to retire, Talent and Culture to be restructured

Cris DeBord

Cris DeBord, vice president of Talent and Culture, has announced his plan to retire later this calendar year. DeBord will assist Rob Alsop, vice president for Strategic Initiatives, in working through the transition and his departure.

“We appreciate Cris’ contributions to  Talent  and  Culture  and  the broader University,” Alsop said. “During his tenure at WVU, he has been a steadfast agent for change and modernizing our HR-related business practices. I want to thank Cris and wish him well as he prepares for this next phase of life.”

As part of the University’s ongoing review and transformation efforts, Alsop has decided to restructure Talent and Culture, the WVU Human Resources unit, to align and better serve the University community for the future.

As part of that reorganization, the position of vice president for Talent and Culture is being eliminated.

Alsop has begun the process of restructuring the units of Talent and Culture. The specifics of the reorganization will be formally announced in the coming days.
