Fall 2023 academic building operating hours announced for Downtown and Evansdale

WVU Campus

As the fall semester approaches, West Virginia University has updated its hours of operations for academic buildings on the Downtown and Evansdale campuses.

View the academic building operating schedules for the fall semester.

Some academic buildings limit the hours they are open without key or swipe card access. Faculty, staff and students with keys or card access still will be able to enter and exit these buildings during non-operational hours; however, the exterior doors will be locked during off-hours.

Faculty, staff and students should reference the Physical Access Management Standard policy for more information and contact their building supervisor if they require after-hours access to an academic building.

Special meetings and events still may be hosted in certain academic buildings during evenings and weekends, but these activities must be scheduled and approved in advance via 25Live in accordance with scheduling guidelines.

Due to the unique operational needs of the facility, operating hours (Monday through Friday from 7:45 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Saturday from 9:45 a.m. to 4 p.m. except for WVU holidays) for the Health Sciences Center remain unchanged.

These operating hours are designed to promote campus safety by limiting access to buildings during evenings and weekends and simplifying the University Police Department’s response procedures in emergency situations.

Updating operating hours for some academic buildings also supports the University’s commitment to sustainability by decreasing our energy consumption across the Morgantown Campus. Lights should be turned off when a building is not in use, and temperatures will be regulated in accordance with the University’s Indoor Space Temperature Policy.
