WVU to distribute annual notice of appointment letters starting this week

Woodburn Hall

Beginning Thursday (June 29), West Virginia University will distribute notice of appointment letters for Fiscal Year 2024 to eligible non-classified, faculty and faculty-equivalent/academic professionals.

Similar to last year’s process, the letters will be distributed electronically via the same software platform used in the WVU performance review process for staff.

Eligible employees will receive an email to their WVU account from NoticeofAppointment@mail.wvu.edu along with instructions on how to access their appointment letters for Fiscal Year 2024.

New to this year’s process, faculty and staff will be asked to verify their base salary information in the Applaud HR system. View these instructions on accessing your salary information in Applaud.

Notice of appointment letters will only include the following elements:

  • Employee name
  • Department name
  • Employee title
  • Employee contract dates

Importantly, faculty and staff are required to electronically sign their appointment letters within 10 business days of receipt.

Employees may choose to print a copy of their appointment letters for their records.

For common questions, search the Notice of Appointment FAQs. If you have questions regarding this new process or accessing the BLUE system, please contact NoticeOfAppointment@mail.wvu.edu. You also may contact WVU Shared Services at sharedservices@mail.wvu.edu or 304-293-6006, as well as your strategic business advisor, with any general questions or those related to longevity payments.

* As with prior years, faculty and residents employed by the School of Medicine will be excluded from the University’s notice of appointment process and will receive their appointment letters through the standard method beginning in late July.
