Faculty and staff on all campuses are encouraged to install a critical security update on all University-managed Macs and iPads. You will be prompted to start installing this update on Monday, April 24, or you can check for updates and install them now.

This update, which will take about 30 minutes to complete, will address a vulnerability that could let an attacker access and control your device.

This update will include Apple devices that are used by Health Sciences employees and participants in the HSC student laptop program.

ITS recommends you accept the update and restart your devices at the earliest opportunity to prevent unintended disruption of your work later. You will only be able to defer the update for five days. On Saturday evening, April 29, the update will be installed automatically, and your device will be rebooted.

ITS strongly recommends that faculty, staff and students update all personally owned Apple products as soon as possible and refer to Apple Support for questions.
