The Office of Graduate Education and Life invites the public to attend the 2023 Three-Minute Thesis Grand Finale at 6 p.m. Tuesday, April 4, in the Mountainlair Ballrooms.
Five faculty and staff members will serve as judges for this competition and attendees will have the opportunity to vote for the People’s Choice Award.
Created by the University of Queensland, the Three-Minute Thesis competition requires doctoral candidates to convey their dissertation research and its relevance in three minutes using a single slide.
Participation in the 3MT competition helps graduate students hone their abilities to communicate their research and strengthens their ability to explain their work clearly and concisely to an audience outside of their field.
Grand Finale prizes include:
- First Place: $1,000
- Second Place: $750
- Third Place: $500
- People’s Choice: $250
