Research Week kicks off today

Research Week

The WVU Research Office invites the community to celebrate faculty, staff and students who help elevate the University’s profile as a top-tier, pioneering R1 institution during the Fifth Annual Research Week.

Throughout the week, a slate of activities, events and workshops will showcase these research efforts.

Featured events include a discussion on “Substance Use among Older Adults” with guest speaker Alexis Kuerbis, who specializes in substance abuse treatment.

A workshop geared to researchers, “Lay it down for the layman: How to communicate and amplify your research beyond the lab,” will offer tips and tricks on how to make research relatable to the general masses.

The Health Sciences Office of Research and Graduate Education will host a showcase on its core facilities and how researchers can utilize resources and services

"Research Week is a way for us all to pause and celebrate the tremendous amount of work that goes into being an R1 university and to say, 'thank you,' to all who make it possible," said Melanie Page, associate vice president for creative and scholarly activities at the Research Office. "We hope you can join us and we look forward to celebrating with you."
