Make your voice heard through the 2023 WVU Culture and Engagement Survey

As part of our continuing efforts to promote a great workplace and ensure faculty and staff remain committed to furthering our land-grant mission, WVU plans to conduct the 2023 WVU Culture and Engagement Survey from Tuesday, March 21, through Tuesday, April 4.

The survey will provide all faculty and staff across the WVU System the opportunity to anonymously submit feedback to measure the effectiveness of recent culture and improvement efforts and our employees’ commitment and connection with their college, school, division or unit, as well as the broader University.

Beginning Tuesday, March 21, all benefits-eligible faculty and staff employed by the University as of Feb. 15, 2023, will receive an invitation via email to participate in the survey. The survey will be administered by Dialogue, a third-party employee voice platform specializing in culture and engagement surveys.

There are 23 total questions in the survey and it will take less than five minutes to complete. As with previous culture surveys, anonymity and confidentiality are assured. No WVU employee, manager or senior leader will have access to individual employee responses.

The survey’s last question is open-ended. After answering the questions, participants will be prompted to vote on the other anonymous responses. The process of voting helps prioritize the areas that are most important to the University. Faculty and staff are encouraged to return to the survey often while it is open and continue voting to help rank responses.

Organization-wide survey results will be shared campuswide during a Campus Conversation later this spring. Results also will be used to identify WVU’s strengths and opportunities for improvement and to help us build a better workplace.

In early September, survey results will be released to all faculty and staff, and participants will be able to view aggregate results for any demographic to which they are aligned — organization-wide, division or college, faculty, classified staff, non-classified staff and department/unit — as long as there are five or more responses for a specific population.

Following the release of results, teams with five or more survey responses will engage in team conversations to provide constructive feedback about the results and actions that will be taken to address an area’s opportunities for improvement.

Thank you in advance for participating in the 2023 WVU Culture and Engagement Survey.
