Prep for your next research assignment, find resources for a literature review, situate yourself in previous literature and learn where to find key resources by attending one or more of these workshops. 

Getting started on a literature review
Do you have a literature review in your future? Come learn the steps of a lit review and practice database search strategies. Registration required. This workshop will be held on Zoom.

Getting the most out of Google Scholar
This workshop will introduce key differences between searching in Google Scholar and library databases, techniques for increasing your access to full-text materials and other more sophisticated features to improve your search results.

Introduction to U.S. Census data
Participants will be introduced to the various U.S. Bureau of Census surveys and learn how to access the available demographic data from the surveys using the Census data platform. Additionally, participants will learn how to use the library GIS tool, Social Explorer, for demographic mapping and IPUMS to retrieve public use microsample data samples (PUMS).

Chicago Notes-Bibliography Style
Are you dealing with a Chicago Style paper? Many arts and humanities disciplines, including history and political science, require the use of the Chicago Notes-Bibliography Style. This in-person workshop will provide an understanding of how and why to cite in the Chicago Notes-Bibliography Style.

Introduction to Federal Policy and Legislative Resources
In this workshop, participants will learn how to locate and utilize resources for policy and legislative resources. In addition to resources for bills and laws, users will also receive an introduction on how to find supporting documents including current and historical legislative histories, hearings, documents and prints.
