The WVU Council for Gender Equity will hold a series of free educational workshops on dating and relationships presented by It’s On Us, a nonprofit organization that uses organizing, engagement and public awareness to address some of our nation’s most pressing challenges.
The hybrid sessions are open to faculty, staff, students and community members.
The following workshops are scheduled for Thursday, Feb. 9, in the Mountainlair:
"How to Exit an Unhealthy Relationship Safely and Avoid Ongoing Manipulation" will be held at 10 a.m. in the Shenandoah Room. Learn to navigate the ending of an unhealthy or abusive relationship and the emotional rollercoaster that often accompanies it.
"What Exactly is a Healthy Relationship?" will be held at 2 p.m. in the Shenandoah Room. Learn the qualities and behaviors that are consistent within healthy relationships, as well as how to recognize unhealthy behaviors before they escalate into abuse.
"Online Dating Safety" will be held at 5 p.m. in the Laurel Room. Learn about the intersection of online dating and dating violence, as well as ways to stay safe while online dating.
The Council for Gender Equity requests that faculty and instructors, especially those teaching general education courses, encourage their students to attend.
