Putting the ‘me’ in development: New professional development opportunities available

As we welcome the start of a new year and new semester, now is a great time for faculty and staff to invest in professional development and encourage colleagues to do the same by registering for one or more Leadership and Organization Development learning opportunities. 

This semester, the LOD team will offer a combination of live webinars and eLearning courses for all WVU employees as well as some tailored specifically for people leaders.

Professional Development: Open to all WVU employees

  • “Welcome, Gen Z! A Guide to Working with Generation Z in the Workplace” will be held from 11 a.m.-noon on March 8.

Leadership Development: Open to all current WVU people leaders

• “Leadership & Influence” will be held from 10-11 a.m. on Feb. 14.

• “Leadership Essentials Part 1” will be held from 9-11 a.m. on Feb. 23.

• “Delivering Purposeful Feedback” will be held from 10-11:30 a.m. on April 4.

• “Leadership Essentials Part 1” will be held from 1-3 p.m. on April 20.

In addition to the exciting course offerings above, LOD will also offer more than 20 on-demand eLearning courses that can be taken at any time, including:

• “A Guide to Empathy at Work” 

• “Resolving Conflict with Coworkers”

• “5 Common Workplace Challenges for Teams”
