Auxiliary and Business Services provides details on operations during winter break

snowy campus

As winter break begins and we approach the holidays at WVU, many areas of campus will be closed or operating at a reduced capacity.

As a result, Auxiliary and Business Services is sharing information on the availability of certain services and support in the coming weeks.

  • The Facilities Management team will operate with reduced staff during the holidays. As a result, response times may be slightly delayed. If there is an urgent need or an emergency, call 304-293-HELP (4357).

  • The Roads and Grounds team will also operate with reduced staffing levels and several parking lots on campus may be blocked off during the break. If you are on campus during the break, allow extra time for the roads to be cleared in cases of inclement weather.

  • The Parking team will not be ticketing during winter break, so faculty, staff and students are free to park in any available space on campus. The Parking Management office will be closed Friday (Dec. 23) through Monday, Jan. 2. The office will resume normal hours of operation (Monday through Friday from 8:15 a.m. to 4:15 p.m.) on Tuesday, Jan. 3.

  • Most campus buildings will be closed during weekends and on designated University holidays (Dec. 23, Dec. 26, Dec. 27, Dec. 30 and Jan. 2). However, the Health Sciences Center will be open during normal business hours, with the exception of Dec. 26. Be sure to contact your building supervisor with any questions.

  • Mail Services will continue as usual throughout the break except on WVU holidays. Window service will be available weekdays from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Similarly, the WVU warehouse will remain open weekdays from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. except on holidays.

  • Staffing will be limited within the Procurement team Dec. 23 through Jan. 2. However, purchasing agents will monitor purchase order processing each day on a rotational basis to avoid delays. Category managers and category analysts also will monitor email, Microsoft Teams and cell phones for any urgent needs.

  • The Accounts Payable team will operate as normal during the break. However, checks for the WVU Research Corp. will not be issued the week of Dec. 26.

Happy holidays from the entire ABS team.
