Faculty are encouraged to apply to mentor undergraduates in scholarly activity via the Summer Undergraduate Research Experience program and to inform their undergraduates that SURE applications are now open.

The deadline to submit a faculty application is Feb. 17.

SURE is a paid undergraduate research experience for students interested in graduate school and research/creative work within their discipline or a related discipline.

2023 SURE program dates are May 30-July 28.

Note: Due to funding limitations, participation in the funded portion of WVU SURE may be limited to one time per undergraduate.

The NSF-funded KY-WV LSAMP Alliance provides funding to support an additional five undergraduate STEM majors in SURE who are also underrepresented persons (e.g., Hispanic, African-American) and U.S. citizens/permanent residents of the U.S. or its territories. WVU students who fit these demographics are encouraged to apply to SURE.
