The University research community is invited to attend the Davis College Office of Research open house to learn about the stream and wetland mitigation bank initiative from 1-3 p.m. Dec. 7, Agriculture Sciences Building, Room G06.
Ryan Gaujot, of Green Rivers LLC, will provide an overview of the project area, description of the permitting process, a proposal on the types of collaboration possible in the new space and a timeline for construction.
WVU contracted with Green Rivers LLC, of Davis, to establish this bank at the Stewartstown Road Research, Education and Outreach Center. The private-public project will transform the predominantly marginal and non-producing spaces of the Stewartstown Road REOC into a research, teaching and learning laboratory, creating the capacity to greatly enhance the research, learning and service mission of WVU.
This endeavor will also provide a catalyst for cross-college research and teaching collaborations, as well as WVU Extension outreach and professional development opportunities.
Ultimately, this initiative will generate an endowment to ensure this change in green space can be self-sustaining in terms of operation and maintenance.
RSVP before Dec. 5 by contacting John Yost at john.yost@mail.wvu.edu.
