Creating more inclusive STEM classrooms

Teaching And Learning Commons New Graphic

Students learn more and develop greater self-efficacy, when they feel like they belong in specific academic spaces. However, STEM courses are sometimes considered exclusive and may be viewed, at times, as gatekeeper vs. gateway in nature.

Join this virtual roundtable session from 10-11 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 10, to discuss and brainstorm policies and practices that can make STEM spaces, especially classes with large enrollments, more inclusive.

The presenter is Dana Huebert Lima, teaching associate professor in the Department of Biology and associate chair for Undergraduate Advising, Recruitment and Retention.

This session will be capped at 15 participants and will not be recorded.
