The deadline to submit events to help WVU FirstGen Initiatives celebrate first-generation students, faculty and staff has been extended to Wednesday (Nov. 2).
WVU FirstGen Initiatives encourages colleges, departments and units to recognize first-gens in as many ways as possible from Nov. 7-11, part of the national First-Generation College Celebration.
Consider featuring individuals on social media and websites; hosting fun events such luncheons, panel discussions or other programming; offering special mentorship opportunities; distributing first-gen swag; and/or holding special gatherings with members of your leadership team. The Office of Student Success can also provide FirstGen buttons, door cards and FirstGen signs.
Submit events by Wednesday (Nov. 2).
All events will be posted on the Office of Student Success website.
