Starting Jan. 25, 2023, the National Institutes of Health will require a data management and sharing plan for all research generating scientific data.

Other policy changes include a new two-page format requiring detailed information, budget management changes, and open access and tracking requirements.

Review this chart to determine if your NIH submission requires a DMS Plan.

The Research Office, in partnership with WVU Libraries, the West Virginia Clinical & Translational Science Institute, HSC Office of Research and Graduate Education, Eberly College of Arts and Sciences, and the Benjamin M. Statler College of Engineering and Mineral Resources, has a plan to assist PIs submitting to the NIH in 2023.

Visit this resource page to learn more and to sign up for a Q&A session. If you plan to submit to the NIH in the first quarter of 2023, complete this consultation form as soon as possible.
