WVU’s Defend Your Data program, managed by Information Technology Services, helps employees and students stay safe online.
Faculty, staff and students should report suspected or known cyber threats to DYD in the following ways:
Report suspected spam and phishing attempts, or emails aimed at stealing your personal information to DefendYourData@mail.wvu.edu. Forward suspicious emails as an attachment or use the Report Message or Phishing button in Outlook email.
Report computer security and privacy incidents using a new Qualtrics form located on both the DefendYourData.wvu.edu and the Health Sciences Center ITS website, its.hsc.wvu.edu. Security incidents are defined in the Computer Security Incident Response Policy, but examples include a lost or stolen laptop, a suspected ransomware attack or a hacked device.
Examples of privacy incidents include, but are not limited to things such as: the inadvertent sharing of personally identifiable information such as Protected Health Information or FERPA-protected student data with someone not authorized to see it.
