To celebrate its 10th anniversary, the Women’s Leadership Initiative is establishing a General Endowment Fund to help sponsor professional development opportunities, graduate student scholarships, and the advancement of both current women leaders and those yet to emerge.
Consider joining the “10 for 10” campaign and supporting the Women’s Leadership Initiative Fund. Faculty and staff can donate $10 per month for 10 months through a WVU payroll deduction to the WVU Foundation.
If you can’t commit to 10 months, consider a one-time donation in whatever amount you are willing and able to give at this time. You can give online via this link by entering 2W1560 in the “Designation” field.
Your generosity is appreciated and valuable. Although women make up more than 60% of the higher education workforce, they hold only 30% of its executive leadership positions.
WLI was established in 2012 as the Developing Women Leaders program, aiming to empower women in leadership roles and provide them the resources to help them reach their full potential. Through a combination of formal programming and informal networking and leadership support, WLI focuses on the unique needs of women leaders.
Supported by the Office of the Provost, the WLI is guided by a 12-person steering committee of professionals across WVU campuses, including the WLI director. Each year, the WLI leadership team provides a unique curriculum and hosts a variety of professional learning and networking opportunities for its members around this leadership curriculum.
