Chris Schmoldt, associate director of campus recreation at WVU, has been appointed interim director of the Mountainlair following the retirement of Michael Ellington.
“Chris’ experience as associate director of WVU Campus Recreation has prepared him to manage a similarly popular, high traffic and very public University building and its operations,” Dean of Students Corey Farris said. "He continues to work hard to offer and promote services and other activities that enhance the overall student experience."
Schmoldt has served as the associate director of WVU Campus Recreation since 2019. In the role, he oversaw the Aquatics Center, Club Sports, the Craft Center and intramural sports as well as the Student Staff Development Committee.
