Hearts of Gold, a nonprofit organization that partners with WVU to raise and train service and emotional support dogs for placement with veterans, is seeking full-time and weekend community foster care homes for its two-year training program.
A part of the Davis College of Agriculture, Natural Resources and Design, the program places approximately 10 dogs per year, giving veterans independence and confidence, while teaching students about animal behavior and best practices.
Becoming a community foster is free and no experience is necessary. Hearts of Gold covers all necessary medical care, grooming, food and required equipment for each dog.
