WVU Arts & Entertainment to present Straight No Chaser at Morgantown Metropolitan Theatre

Straight No Chaser

The a cappella sensation Straight No Chaser will perform at the Morgantown Metropolitan Theatre Sept. 19 at 7:30 p.m. Tickets will go on sale Friday, July 29, at 10 a.m. at the Arts & Entertainment Box Office at the WVU Canady Creative Arts Center, online at Ticketmaster.com and by phone at 304-293-SHOW (7469) and 800-745-3000.

If the phrase “male a cappella group” conjures up an image of students in blue blazers, ties and khakis singing traditional college songs on ivied campuses, think again. Members of Straight No Chaser are neither straight-laced nor straight-faced, but neither are they vaudeville-style kitsch. These dapper vocalists are the real deal, captivating audiences with the sound of nine unadulterated human voices coming together to make extraordinary music that is moving people in a fundamental sense — and with a sense of humor.

Straight No Chaser has a long list of accomplishments, including two Recording Industry Association of America gold-certified albums and has sold more than 1.5 million concert tickets and more than two million albums worldwide. The group also amassed more than one billion streams on Pandora.

SNC ushered a cappella into the mainstream before pop culture phenoms like “The Sing-Off” and “Pitch Perfect” and they continue to sell out crowds nationwide. Their uncanny ability to belt out R&B smooth jams, stadium anthems and holiday staples — carried by style, swagger and spirit — creates a concert experience like no other.

General public tickets for “An Evening with Straight No Chaser” start at $48. WVU students may purchase tickets for only $28. WVU Student discounted tickets are limited to one per valid WVU Student ID.
