WVU to host Morgantown Municipal Band July Fourth Concert

The WVU College of Creative Arts will again host the annual outdoor Independence Day Concert by the Morgantown Municipal Band Monday, July 4, at 11 a.m. in front of the Canady Creative Arts Center.

The Morgantown Municipal Band will be conducted this year by John Hendricks, former WVU Director of Bands, and current Associate Dean of the College of Creative Arts. 

This concert marks the 31st  Independence Day Concert by the band. The program will include music by John Philip Sousa, Leonard Bernstein, Aaron Copland, Henry Fillmore, Irving Berlin and others. Traditional classics like “America, The Beautiful,” “Tribute to the Armed Forces” and “The Stars and Stripes Forever” will be included.

The concert is free and will occur rain or shine. Patrons are encouraged to bring lawn chairs or blankets, sun protection (hats and umbrellas) and water. Parking is available in the parking lots in front of the Canady Creative Arts Center.
