The Office of Sustainability will host its second book recycling collection for 2022 the week of July 11. The deadline to request a pickup is Wednesday, July 6.

Faculty and staff are encouraged to participate in this biannual book recycling program, which is designed to help colleges, departments and units recycle unwanted paper items from their offices and storage rooms.

The program primarily is intended for hardback books, but faculty and staff also may include paperback books, journals, magazines, pamphlets, hanging file folders and notebooks with spiral binding.

Fill out this form to request a pickup.

Those employees based at the Health Sciences campus do not need to submit a pickup request form. Health Sciences employees can drop off their boxes to room G351 near the Receiving Room before Friday, July 8.

This special pick-up service does not include confidential document shredding needs.

New this year, the Sustainability team will offer a public drop-off location for faculty, staff and students to recycle their personally owned books. Students and employees may drop off books in the Potomac Room of the Mountainlair July 6-8 between 7 a.m. and 5:30 p.m.
