The WVU IACUC has announced Sarah L. McLaughlin, who graduated from WVU with a bachelor's degree in Animal and Nutritional Sciences, as the winner of its annual recognition award.
McLaughlin was presented the award virtually by Peter Mathers on Thursday, April 14.
An imaging specialist with the Animal Models and Imaging Facility, she previously worked as a laboratory technician with the WVU Research Corporation. For the last decade, she has given support for preclinical models, performed small animal imaging, consulted on a variety of protocols, helped with experimental design and data interpretation, and trained dozens of individuals to perform their own imaging experiments.
Her work with the IACUC has been focused on providing superior service to the research community and is an absolute pleasure to work with because of her enthusiasm for the science and her commitment to animal care and welfare.
Congratulations to McLaughlin and her fellow nominees: Rich VanNorman, Josh Parenti and Desheng Wang.
