GradFest is here. Graduating students are invited to salute their achievements with daily events and activities as we welcome them to the next stage of their Mountaineer journey to becoming proud WVU alumni!
Faculty and staff are also invited to attend this evening’s (April 18) fireside chat as President E. Gordon Gee hosts Marco Greenberg, author of “Primitive: Tapping the Primal Drive that Powers the World’s Most Successful People,” published by Hachette.
The chat will be held in person at the Erickson Alumni Center (Salon A and B) and offer a virtual option via Zoom webinar as well. The Zoom webinar will go live five-to-10 minutes before the event starts at 6 p.m.
Moderated by April Kaull, executive director of communications at West Virginia University, the event will begin with a discussion where Gee and Greenberg will share how each person can draw on their individual strengths in the job hunt, as well as the necessary tools and skills needed heading into today’s job market. There will be an open question-and-answer session following the discussion, with participants attending in-person and virtually.
In addition, each participant attending in person will receive a free, signed copy of “Primitive.” Snacks and beverages will be served.
Greenberg is the co-founder and president of Thunder11, a New York-based strategic communications firm that works closely with CEOs in the business and not-for-profit sectors. In his book, he spoke informally and intimately with practitioners who have reached the top of their fields to discuss their career journeys and what drove them to success.
Named to the Wall Street Journal Best Seller List, “Primitive” features the stories of venture capital-backed technologists, CEOs of major corporations, government ministers, innovative educators and renowned scientists, including WVU President Gordon Gee and Dr. Ali Rezai, executive chair of the Rockefeller Neuroscience Institute and vice president of neuroscience at West Virginia University.
