Neighbors Beyond Neighborhoods, an art installation sharing the stories of unsheltered individuals that call Morgantown home, will open at The Art Party during the Morgantown Arts Walk on Saturday (April 9). The exhibit will be open for the public every Saturday and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
This view into unseen Morgantown is intended to create a safe space to meet, learn and shift the stigma surrounding people experiencing houselessness. The exhibit features art created by, about and of our neighbors experiencing houselessness.
While there is no cost for entry, donations and art supplies are being accepted to support Friendship House.
The exhibit is part of a partnership between the Morgantown City Council’s Subcommittee on Unsheltered Homelessness, Friendship House, Art Party, West Virginia Storytellers Guild and the Martin Hall Agency with funding provided by the Meyer Family Charitable Trust.
