WVU book recycling collection planned for early February

books

The Office of Sustainability will host its first book recycling collection for 2022 throughout the week of Feb. 7. The deadline to request a pickup is Feb. 2.

The entire WVU community is invited to participate in the biannual book recycling program, which is designed to help departments recycle unwanted paper items from their offices and storage rooms.

The program primarily is intended for hardback books, but individuals also may include paperback books, journals, magazines and pamphlets.

This special pick-up service does not include confidential document shredding needs. Visit the Office of Sustainability website to learn more about shredding services, including pricing and acceptable shredding material.

New this year, the Sustainability team will offer a public drop-off location for faculty, staff and students to recycle their personally owned books. Individuals may drop off books at the Mountainlair (Potomac Room) between Feb. 2 and 4.
