WVU Planetarium to feature two holiday shows

planetarium

The WVU Planetarium, located in White Hall, will feature two opportunities to catch the special holiday show "Season of Light” on Friday (Dec. 17) at 7:30 and 8:30 p.m.

Season of Light is about the coldest and darkest of seasons—a time which holds some of the warmest and brightest celebration of the year, including the burning Yule log, sparkling Christmas tree lights, candles in windows, the lighting of luminaries in the American Southwest and the traditional ritual of the Hanukkah Menorah.

The show also recounts the historical religious and cultural rituals practiced during the winter solstice—not only Christian and Jewish, but also Celtic, Nordic, Roman, Irish, Mexican and Hopi.

Both shows are free and open to the public; reservations are required.
