WVU to host WinterFest for campus, community

Winterfest

West Virginia University invites faculty, staff, students and the surrounding community to celebrate the season of ice and snow.

Winterfest will feature nightly ice skating, photo opportunities inside a giant snow globe, giveaways, snacks, food trucks and various Refresh activities from Nov. 27 to Dec. 10 at the Evansdale Rec Fields.

The event will be open from noon to 10 p.m. on weekends, from 5-10 p.m. Monday through Thursday and from 5 p.m. to midnight on Fridays.

Saturday (Nov. 27) and Sunday (Nov. 28) are dedicated community days. The entire Morgantown community is invited to visit WinterFest and bring the family.

Registration is required to ice skate. Visit go.wvu.edu/winterfest beginning Wednesday (Nov. 24) to register.

WVU students and employees should bring a WVU ID with them along with registration confirmation. Community members will pay $2 per person to ice skate; your purchase will be donated to one of two local charities, Pantry Plus More and the Ronald McDonald House, of your choice at time of payment.

WinterFest is sponsored by Coca-Cola and University Apartments and is part of the Refresh events series.
