OLLI will host the 15th annual Irving Goodman Aging Lecture, Intergenerational Teaching and Learning: An Age-Friendly University Perspective Thursday (Sept. 23) at 1 p.m. on Zoom.
This year's guest speaker is Joann Montepare, professor of psychology and director of the RoseMary B. Fuss Center for Research on Aging and Intergenerational Studies at Lasell University. This lecture is free and open to the public.
Shifting age demographics are reshaping the social structure of our populations and calling for institutions of higher education to consider how they can respond to aging populations through new approaches to teaching, research, and community engagement. The global Age-Friendly University initiative provides a guiding framework for how campuses can be more age inclusive. This talk will give an overview of the AFU initiative and describe distinctive age-friendly ways campuses can connect with older adults in their communities to provide opportunities for living, learning, and intergenerational exchange.
