Update on construction at the WVU Coliseum parking lots

Coliseum Parking Map Paving Areas

As part of ongoing campus enhancement efforts, WVU recently has been repaving the WVU Coliseum parking lots and installing new lights in parking areas at the facility.

Work began July 26, and a large portion of the enhancements are complete. View this map for the remaining areas to be resurfaced.

The last phase of paving activities is scheduled to occur beginning Monday, Aug. 30, and continuing through Friday, Sept. 3. Parking Lot 2 and a portion of Lot 1B will be closed during this timeframe.

Further, the main entrance road to the Coliseum will be resurfaced during this time, and traffic will be restricted to a single lane around milling and paving activities. Flaggers will control traffic around the work area. Be aware of flaggers, construction signs and leave extra time to account for potential traffic delays.

The new lights are scheduled to be complete by early November. The existing lights will remain in place until the new lights are installed.

Note: The schedule is subject to change due to progress and unforeseen conditions, such as weather.

Students, faculty, staff and campus visitors may want to consider other short-term parking options on the Evansdale campus next week to avoid congestion.

The Planning, Design, Construction and Scheduling team appreciates your continued patience and understanding as we work to enhance our campus and create a welcoming environment for our University community.
