mental health

The COVID-19 pandemic is creating an unprecedented rise in mental health and substance use issues, leaving many of us asking how we can better support our friends and loved ones.

Faculty and staff are invited to participate in Mental Health First Aid, an international, evidence-based program that teaches people to identify, understand and respond to signs and symptoms of mental health and substance use challenges.

The course will be offered in person on the following dates:

  • Friday, July 2, from 2-4 p.m.

  • Friday, July 16, from noon to 4 p.m.

  • Friday, July 23 from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The course will also be offered via Zoom:

  • Tuesday, July 20, from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.

You do not have to be a licensed provider or have any experience in the mental health field to benefit from this training. The cost of materials is $20 and space is limited. Licensed social workers will receive eight social work CE's.
