With summer in full swing, WVU Dining Services Dietitian Sina King’s latest installment of the Dietitian Dish blog series focuses on a topic that is prevalent on social media, the news and perhaps even discussions among families right now: monitoring food consumption for that “summer body."
Intuitive Eating is an evidenced-based, self-care eating framework, which is rooted in respect for all bodies (i.e., body diversity) and focuses on reliance on internal hunger and satiety cues, unconditional permission to eat and food-body choice congruence.
In her post, King helps clear up some of the common misconceptions around IE and its core principles. She also describes how you can use the IE framework to promote increased body appreciation, increased body trust, increased body cue awareness, increased food variety and more.
New issues of the Dietitian Dish will be posted on the third week of every month.
