Due to low ridership during the summer months, WVU is suspending bus service on its Morgantown campus, effective Monday, June 28.
WVU students, faculty and staff who use bus transportation to navigate campus may continue to use the Mountain Line Transit Authority bus service, which offers a similar route (Route 38 Blue & Gold) to the University’s modified Country Roads Loop.
WVU students, faculty and staff can ride Mountain Line buses for free with a swipe of their WVU ID card. A variety of routes are available to transport riders among the Downtown, Evansdale and Health Sciences campuses as well as to and from off-campus locations.
Visit the Mountain Line website for more information and to view bus schedules. Mountain Line also offers a mobile app that shows the location and status of buses.
The site also includes information on current Mountain Line COVID-19 safety precautions. As a reminder, passengers on Mountain Line buses and WVU transportation are required to wear face masks/coverings and follow all safety protocols.
At this time, the University anticipates resuming bus services — along with the WVU Personal Rapid Transit system — in early August as many students, faculty and staff return to campus. However, WVU will evaluate continued operations of bus service this fall based on ridership and the operational needs of the University.
