#MapTheTruthWV, an interactive map for educators to use as a resource for teaching the histories of underrepresented people in West Virginia, is part of an ongoing crowdsourcing project.

Tiffany Mitchell Patterson, assistant professor of secondary social studies in the College of Education and Human Services, worked on the project with several WVU alumni (Kassandra "Kassie" Colón, Geography, Latin American Studies, and Women’s and Gender Studies 19’), Jacob Souch (Anthropology and Psychology 18’) and Heather Maxey (Geography and International Studies 20’), the Zinn Education Project and Black Lives Matter.

#MapTheTrushWV is one way educators, young people, community members and parents/caregivers may pledge to #TeachTheTruth for the National Day of Action set for Saturday (June 12) at 2 p.m.

RSVP to attend a virtual event to learn more about #MapTheTruthWV.
