Dietitian Dish: Nutrition's Connection to Mental Health

healthy food

In her third installment of the Dietitian Dish blog series, WVU Dining Services Dietitian Sina King’s focuses on the connection between nutrition and mental health.

Throughout the past year, the COVID-19 pandemic has brought about many changes to how we live our daily lives along with a tremendous amount of uncertainty, altered daily routines, financial pressures and social isolation. These factors all can take a significant toll on our mental health and overall sense of well-being.

In her post, King talks about how consuming specific types of foods, supplements and vitamins/minerals can aid in decreasing anxiety and depression and help promote positive mental health.

As a reminder, new issues of the Dietitian Dish will be posted on the third week of every month.
