The Student Employee Appreciation Committee has named Elijah Dempsey the 2021 WVU Graduate Student Employee of the Year and Camille Mullens the 2021 WVU Undergraduate Student Employee of the Year. Mullens was also selected by the Midwest Association of Student Employment Administrators as West Virginia’s overall state winner for 2021.
These students, along with their fellow finalists Miracle Hopkins and Michael McClung, were honored during a virtual celebration that included leadership from all WVU campuses. Presidents Gee, Orlikoff and Long all shared their perspective on why student employment opportunities are essential to the University and the finalists’ supervisors shared kind words about why these students have been essential to their teams.
Dempsey, Mullens and their fellow finalists will receive scholarship prizes in recognition of their accomplishments. Thank you to all student employees who help our University run so smoothly, and thank you to all supervisors who nominated a student for this award.
