WVU families with children are invited to join the Mountaineer KidZone teachers for some informative fun to celebrate earth day on Thursday, April 22, at 6 p.m. for a live event on Zoom.
Families can learn together how to determine what items that they use each day can be recycled, practice simple ways that they can help conserve energy, listen to some meaningful stories read aloud about Earth Day and understand and promote why it so important that we all must work together to do our part to help save our beautiful planet.
Each child registered will receive an activity kit with a variety of themed items such as:
Reduce, Reuse, Recycle informational activity wheel to color.
Microgreens Grow Kit with an observation journal to plant and harvest their own miniature microgreens to eat (courtesy of our friends at WVU Monongalia County Extension Office).
A little peat pot to decorate, along with soil and grass seeds to plant inside them to grow a goofy “Grass Head” pet.
Plus some other items to help inspire them to help take good care for our precious planet Earth.
