WVU stands in support of Asian and Asian American communities

West Virginia University stands in solidarity with the Asian and Asian American communities in the face of the most recent attacks and expressions of anti-Asian sentiment.

These acts of hate in the midst of the global pandemic and increase in violence and anti-Asian attacks affect the mental health and well-being of the community-at-large.

The Carruth Center and Division of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion issued statements of support this week.

Direct and indirect exposure to such events is stressful, traumatizing and can cause a wide range of emotional reactions.

If you are in distress, please ask for help. Students may contact The Counseling Center at 304-293-4431 or text WVU to 741741 (Crisis Text Line) for assistance 24/7.

Faculty and staff may seek support through the Employee Assistance Program.

Resources for members of our community who are of Asian descent are available on the Carruth Center's website. Learn more about diversity resources at diversity.wvu.edu.
