As WVUp All Night resumes in-person activities this weekend (March 12-13), students and the rest of the campus community are reminded to remain vigilant about health and safety protocols and follow COVID-19 safety guidelines.
The weekend program, held at the Mountainlair and the Evansdale Residential Complex (Towers) to provide students with opportunities to socially engage in a safe environment, will follow all standard University COVID-19 guidelines and will require advance reservations to manage capacity limits. In-person events are limited to 25 people (or 50% capacity of venue if fewer than 25) while following the University’s policies for wearing masks and physical distancing.
"As COVID-19 cases decrease, it is important to remain vigilant in practicing precautions such as wearing your mask, social distancing, hand hygiene and avoiding large group gatherings to continue this positive trend,” said Dr. Carmen Burrell, medical director of Urgent Care and Student Health Services. “Although vaccinations are being distributed, only a small percentage of our community has received all doses. We must continue to protect our campus community and all of those at risk for COVID-19 during the ongoing pandemic.”
It is also important to continue following these guidelines to slow the spread of COVID-19:
Wear a mask when around people you don’t live with and when in public
Practice physical distancing (stay at least six feet or two arm lengths) from others
Wash your hands often or use hand sanitizer
Self-monitor and stay home if you are experiencing any symptoms potentially related to COVID-19
Other WVUp All Night guidelines:
Food will be served in to-go containers and there will be no self-serve.
Bowling capacity is 20 people or four per lane.
Billiards capacity is 10 people or two per table.
Movies in the Gluck Theatre and Blue Room will operate at 50% capacity.
All craft activities will enforce physical distancing with capacity limited to 25 people per room.
WVUp All Night will also continue with virtual events and take-home activities at this time. Advance reservations are required for take-home kits as well as WVUp All Night in-person activities. The University will also continue to offer a variety of Refresh virtual activities.
Individuals who are at high risk or exhibit symptoms are reminded to get tested and everyone is encouraged to receive the vaccine as it becomes available.
If you have any symptoms of COVID-19, do not attend in-person events. Students should call WVU Medicine Student Health at 304-285-7200. Employees should contact their primary care physician.
Additional information and COVID-19 updates are available at the University’s Return to Campus website.
