In celebration of Women’s History Month, the WVU Women’s Resource Center is teaming up with OrganiCup, a sustainability-focused menstrual cup company, to help make a sustainable impact on campus and raise awareness about feminine hygiene.
Typically a $30 value, OrganiCups are reusable, medical-grade, silicone menstrual cups that replace pads and tampons, offering a cleaner, healthier and greener menstrual product.
From March 8-22, students can sign up for a free OrganiCup, while faculty and staff may purchase one for 30 percent off. A discount code will be available on the WRC website once the campaign launches on March 8.
To kick off the campaign on March 8, join a virtual discussion on environmental sustainability, how to use a period cup, how to determine cup size, the pros/cons of cups, menstrual hygiene and menstrual equity at the "Campus Cup Period Panel: Save Money. Save the Planet" panel. Panelists include Ixya Vega of Planned Parenthood South Atlantic, Holly McKinney from the LGBTQ+ Center and Chantelle Friend of WELLWVU.
Register for the "Campus Cup Period Panel: Save Money. Save the Planet" panel.
WRC encourages the WVU community to help spread the word about this limited-time opportunity and join universities nationwide in the CampusCup 2021 campaign. Together, we can cut down on waste and become a more sustainable, healthier WVU.
